What does someone in Finance or Accounting do on a daily basis? The answer varies depending on the specific role and responsibilities of the position an individual finds themselves in but at P97 there are a number of tasks and functions our department is responsible for.
P97 Finance/Accounting team members engage in entity level controls, financial reporting, revenue recognition, cost management, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, and audit compliance. This list is non-exhaustive but hopefully provides a high-level summary of the majority of our team functions. We also have a Finance Transformation Project Manager who collaborates closely with our team and other departments to help P97 work better, faster, and smarter by researching and implementing new software, automating manual processes, and creating key reporting to help support management decision-making.
WHO WE SUPPORT
Our team provides vital financial data for reports, collaborates with Professional Services for project updates, handles cash collections, and manages billings/payables in coordination with Sales. We ensure timely customer invoicing and oversee P97 cost approval, processing, and payment.
HOW WE STAY AHEAD
As a private company, it is key our team stays up to date on the latest Accounting hot topics and guidance changes that may impact our Accounting methodologies used. Our supporting function to P97 customers and other departments requires us to work together with a variety of personnel both externally and internally.

As a Business Analyst at P97, my role within the project services team is diverse and fulfilling. At P97, being a Business Analyst is an exceptional experience that stands out among my previous roles in this field.
WHAT I DO AT P97 NETWORKS
I collaborate closely with customers to ensure the best product implementation experience. My tasks include gathering technical requirements, deriving business insights, and managing project plans for timely delivery. I've played a crucial role in planning and implementing projects for our largest customers by deeply understanding their needs and providing innovative solutions.
WHAT I'VE GAINED FROM WORKING AT P97 NETWORKS
During my nine months as an employee at P97, I’ve gained substantial knowledge and have discovered a deeper purpose in my career. I feel truly fortunate to be surrounded by amazing co-workers, supportive leadership, and mentors who generously share their expertise and provide guidance whenever needed. Their mentorship and the positive work environment have contributed immensely to my professional growth and satisfaction.
At P97 Networks, the Quality Assurance team starts off the day with a Daily Standup Meeting to discuss important tasks, ticket priority, team statuses, and upcoming projects. The Standup serves as a daily alignment and sets the stage for the rest of the day.
Our main purpose at P97 Networks is to test Apps and our Cloud Platform that enable Mobile Payment functionality for Retail and Convenience store Companies. To simulate real world use cases, the Quality Assurance team spends time in the Houston office utilizing Point of Sales systems. These machines are set up to process transactions as if you were at a real Gas Station. In our testing process, the tester acts as both the App User and Gas Station Clerk. Conducting transactions from this perspective gives the tester a broad understanding of what goes on behind the scenes during a purchase and fueling at a Gas Station.
OUR FREE TIME
In our downtime, you might spot a QA team member at a nearby boba shop, grabbing drinks to recharge the team. When we're out testing, you'll find us at the local gas station. Every few months, we gather to celebrate achievements and birthdays. At P97 Networks, we foster a welcoming environment that encourages QA professionals to continuously enhance their testing skills.
OUR TEAM DEVELOPMENT
To further push our Team as a whole, we occasionally host what are called Brown Bag meetings. During those meetings, we conduct exciting knowledge transfer sessions over projects our team members are working on. The benefits seen from this allow our teams to grow personally and professionally.
WHAT WE TEACH
Every Project teaches you as a Software Tester new techniques depending on Project testing requirements and complexity level. Common skills Testers develop daily are to improve Software Development processes, to read, understand, and build Postman Requests/Responses, to Monitor Events & Logs from our platform, and to clearly Document issues with detailed reporting and analytics.
- CARBON FOOTPRINTS
- P97 resides in a LEED certified building, occupying approximately 24,000 quare feet and housing approximately 110 employees. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for all building types, LEED provides a framework for healthy, efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.
- CLIMATE POLICY
- We reside in a LEED certified space. We support customers who provide Electric Vehicle Charging with over 200,000 charge points in the EU as well as Transcontinental charging in North America. We support the Hydrogen fueling industry as well as traditional hydrocarbon-based fuels.

- Our program includes support of EV charging and Hydrogen fuelling for vehicles in US, Canada, and EU.

As the only Marketing Intern at P97 Networks, I am one of the main people solely responsible for implementing strategies that will improve the brand image of P97, and therefore generate more sales. My main project throughout my time at P97 was to revitalize the social media presence of some of the leadership team here at P97.
WHAT I DO AT P97 NETWORKS
During my tenure at P97, my primary focus was managing the LinkedIn content calendar, but in addition to tasks like researching content, drafting posts, and collaborating with team members, I undertook various smaller projects. One of these projects involved creating a KPI tree to break down critical revenue-generating KPIs, along with tracking the performance of our LinkedIn posts and making a rough estimate of marketing ROI using hypothetical figures. I also contributed to the design of slide decks highlighting the significance of marketing and sales collateral and collaborated on a presentation about the top website visitor tracking companies.
WHAT I'VE GAINED FROM WORKING AT P97 NETWORKS
One of the valuable experiences I gained during this internship was the opportunity to work with professionals on the Leadership Team. Though those interactions, I was able to acquired a wealth of knowledge about the mobile payments industry, laying a solid foundation for my future career.
